Microchip Has Advantage over Dialog in Atmel Contest

Microchip, the microcontroller manufacturer based in Chandler, Arizona, has the advantage over Dialog Semiconductor in the bidding war for Atmel, said a source familiar with the matter as well as two Atmel investors.

Dialog, based in London, has the wherewithal to increase its offer, the sources said.
