She began covering stories for CTFN in 2014, and has built her network of contacts in the antitrust community and among academia, institutional shareholders, and corporate leaders. Prior to CTFN, Diane reported on business and markets for several general business publications. Diane attended Virginia Tech and Penn State and has a business management degree from Brookdale College.

    Ed specializes in litigation and regulatory matters and attends and reports on most major antitrust trials. He has sat through every moment of the major antitrust trials in the last several years. Ed also covers complex multi-jurisdictional cases such as Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Prior to working at CTFN, Ed was a Washington-based reporter covering congress. Ed is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication.

    European and UK Regulatory
    Rachel specializes in covering large, complex deals with filings pending before the European Commission. Rachel spent 12 years at Mergermarket, most recently as head of special coverage. In this role, she liaised with European CEOs and reported for dealReporter. Rachel has worked on numerous high-profile deals, including the Kraft takeover of Cadbury, the British Airways merger with Iberia, and the Newscorp stake in BSKYB. She has written articles for Sunday Business, Breaking Views, Media Week, Financial News, and appeared on CNBC. She holds a liberal arts degree in European History from Smith College.

    Public Utilities, FCC and Special Coverage
    Bob covers utility, cable, and banking deals, and has a great skill for understanding the nuances of state regulatory processes. Bob was a 20-year veteran reporter for the Los Angeles Times and shared in two Pulitzer Prizes awarded to the newspaper’s Metro staff. He has reported on numerous state and federal trials and served as the Times’ entertainment industry legal affairs writer covering Hollywood and the law. Bob was also a correspondent for the Associated Press. He is based in Los Angeles.

    Telecom M&A Reporter
    Sarah is a telecom and technology M&A reporter who has covered numerous deals in the data center space, new and incumbent telecoms, and FCC matters. Prior to joining CTFN, her work appeared in Forbes, TheStreet, FT.com, and many other publications including Mergermarket, where she worked for 10 years. She holds an MA in communications from Bowling Green State University and BA in English from the University of New Hampshire.
  • Salvatore Bruno

    European Special Reporting
    Salvatore covers Italian and French M&A and private equity transactions. Previously, he worked for Mergermarket where he was instrumental in their Italian coverage, the Financial Times Group, and Euromoney. Salvatore has covered M&A in Paris, London, and Milan where he is currently based.

    Stephen has more than 20 years of experience as a research analyst. He started an event driven research product at Renaissance Macro Research, after covering risk arbitrage at ICAP and event driven situations at Susquehanna and Cathay Financial. Stephen has an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BS in Operations Research from Cornell University.

    Research Analyst
    Tyler joined CTFN as a research analyst. Prior to CTFN, he interned as a buy side analyst for LM Ventures. Tyler has worked on deals valued over $100 million in renewable energy, fossil fuels, and mining. Tyler graduated from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School of Business and holds a BS in Finance with a concentration in Accounting and Investment Management.
  • Valeria Camerino

    EMEA Regulatory and Special Reporting
    Valeria covers various regulatory agencies such as the CADE, the Competition Commission of South Africa, CCI, and others. Prior to joining CTFN, Valeria was a senior reporter at London-based TelecomFinance, where she wrote about telecom M&A, financing, and regulation across Southern Europe and Latin America, providing proprietary intelligence and analysis on the latest industry developments. She also worked as Middle East correspondent at Mergermarket, where she covered corporate M&A. Valeria holds a BA in Languages and Public Relations from Leeds Beckett University and an MA in International Journalism from University of Central Lancashire.

    Publisher and Editor-in-Chief
    Jonathan founded CTFN to provide the highest quality news on mergers and related corporate actions. Today CTFN provides market moving insights for analysts, portfolio managers, and deal professionals. Jonathan was a merger arbitrage research analyst for Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder Advisers from 1999 – 2005, and co-portfolio manager of the merger arbitrage funds at Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder (presently known as First Eagle Investment Management), from 2005 until his retirement from active fund management in 2013. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School (Beta Gamma Sigma) and a BA from Yale College in comparative literature (summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). Jonathan believes that as competition authorities have proliferated globally and as enforcement trends have varied over time, quality reporting from knowledgeable sources has become increasingly important.
  • Melissa Walker

    General Counsel and Director of Compliance
    Melissa is a securities lawyer and compliance professional who has focused her practice on representing clients in securities litigation matters, including insider trading, market timing, the Investment Company Act of 1940, earnings management, and corporate governance. Previously, Melissa worked at Ropes & Gray, LLP in Washington, D.C., and New York. She holds a J.D. from George Washington University Law School, where she was a member of The George Washington Law Review, and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in Journalism and Political Science.
  • Mary Sullivan

    Director of Customer Experience
    Mary joined CTFN to spearhead the customer experience. Having worked in financial services public relations for nearly a decade, Mary supports CTFN with marketing, sales, and client services. Previously, she managed the public relations programs for a variety of banking, trading, research, and media/technology companies. She brings fluency in these industries to CTFN’s coverage. She is a graduate of Fairfield University. 
  • Kara Sullivan

    Sales and Marketing Account Manager
    Kara joined CTFN to support sales and marketing initiatives. She spent seven years in distribution sales and marketing for A&E Television Networks, and more than five years in account management, at several advertising and branding agencies in NYC and CT. Kara seeks to forge a partnership with CTFN readers so that understanding their evolving needs remains a top priority. She is a graduate of Smith College, and holds a liberal arts degree in American Studies.
